My Mackin Journey - John Reilly

John Reilly has been a Business Systems Analyst with Mackin for a little over a year. He is a wealth of knowledge for our Client and we are blessed to have him on our team. We sat down with John and asked him what is the best part of working for Mackin.

 

 

"Since my interview process, on-boarding, getting settled in, and digging in, working for Mackin Talent has been great. The people I interact with from my on-site Engagement Coordinator, Hannah, local colleagues, to senior leadership, have all shown a genuine interest for my well-being and that of all my fellow Mackin team members. In short, they care,"  Reilly told us at a recent check-in.


"Also, the benefit package that’s offered is solid (medical, dental, vision, etc…) and becoming even nicer with the addition of a few new pieces, namely the 401K match, volunteer, and legal assistance plans. It has been great to see us grow in that area in a relatively short period of time. It's a clear message that shows the company not only cares about providing the ability for us to take care of ourselves but also our families," Reilly added.


It always means a lot to us at Mackin when we get this kind of feedback from our employees, especially our employees that are in the later part of their career and have experienced all varieties of workplaces. "It's one of the things that I think sets Mackin apart," commented Leniece Lane, CMO. "Even though many times we are looked at as a traditional staffing company, that isn't how we run our business. Both internal staff as well as those employees working onsite with our clients have access to the same benefits and the same opportunities to particpate in company wide events and groups," added Lane.


Another benefit that sets Mackin apart is the support offered through our Engagement Specialist. Each Client is assigned an Engagement Specialist that works one-on-one with our placed employees to make sure they feel supported, connected and truly part of the team. Many times contingent workers get assigned to a Client's site and get forgotten until their annual contract renews. We take a different approach at Mackin. We constantly engage and include our employees across the company, no matter what Client they are supporting. Engagement Specialists help manage workload, conduct performance reviews and encourage employees to take advantage of the learning and development opportunites offered by Mackin to advance their career.


Hannah Baldovino, John's Engagement Specialist, had this to say about his impact on the team: "John was my first hire and he set the bar really high. I've been consistently told by multiple Hiring Managers that they want "another John Reilly" on their team. He's a natural leader and has an engaging charisma that makes him a pleasure to be around.
